The Academic Programme
The curriculum in the Kindergarten, Junior Section and Middle Section aims to
meet local and international expectations of what young people will know,
understand and be able to do up to the age of 14 years. Much of the content has
been adapted from the English National Curriculum at Key Stages 1 – 3, with the
addition of Urdu and Islamiat. The medium of instruction is almost wholly
English.
In their final years students follow courses in preparation for O-/AS-/A-level
exams offered by Cambridge International Examinations.
Subjects available at O-level are English Language, English Literature, Urdu,
French, Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Accounts, Biology, Chemistry,
Physics, Geography, History, Pakistan Studies, Economics, Sociology, Islamiat,
Bible Knowledge, Computer Studies and Art.
At AS/A-level we offer Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Accounting,
English Literature, Urdu, Economics, Business Management, Sociology, History,
Geography, Psychology, Computer Studies and Art. In addition, all students are
prepared for the CIE General Paper to develop their English language and
thinking skills.
These syllabuses are possible because of the firm educational foundations laid
in the earlier years at School where curiosity is aroused, interest kindled and
concentration developed. Particular care is taken to develop students’ reading
habits and to this end all children have access to libraries from the Nursery
Class onwards.
Physical Education or Games also appears on students’ timetable throughout the
School. We believe it is important to promote health and physical well-being
alongside academic pursuits.
