Art Day – 2016

The Art Day under the leadership of Mrs. Masooma Rizvi and unflinching support of Mr. Bakir Raza and Ms. Farheen Ayub was held on Thursday, 14th April 2016. The Chief Guest for the event was Mrs. Noor Jehan Bilgrami- an artist, textile designer and one of the founders of Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture. Eminent art educators were invited as the judges including Ms. Durriya Kazi, Ms. Adeela Suleman, Ms. Nurriyah Sheikh Nabi ,  Mr. Munawar Ali,  Mr. Fazal Rizvi and Mr.  Adnan Syed.

A live art competition was held between 17 schools of the city: the topic for Class VII – Depiction of Cultural Motifs, VIII – Still life (My Breakfast Table) and IX -My Innovation.


Alongside a discussion session was organised for the accompanying teachers where practices and ideas on aspects of teaching art were shared to promote the teaching and learning of art.


Simultaneously, an earnestly contested inter-House competition was carried out  with 6 representatives from each house. The theme was ‘My Wish ...'  in the form of Graffiti Design. Napier was declared as the winning house. 


The art work of all three levels on integrated curriculum was displayed: Class VII – Geography and Art (Theme: 7 continents); Class VIII – Urdu and Art (Theme: Aadmi Nama and Mera Sahab); Class IX – English Literature and Art (Theme: To Kill a Mocking bird and Macbeth)


The Outdoor Art Club students used their beach trip as an inspiration to give life to their canvases. The Canvas Club students displayed different themes using the medium of oil.
