Book Week: Guest Speaker: Lynette Viccaji

16 Mar 2018

The guest speaker for Class VI was Lynette Viccaji who read from her memoir, ‘Made in Pakistan’. She grew up in Karachi and her life story intersects with the history of the city. She read delightful excerpts from the book about days when the sea came as far as Gizri, about her time in school when Karachi was a safer city and children could wander more freely through the streets. Lynette Viccaji is an English teacher who always loved reading but had never considered writing until she started writing a blog which lay the foundations for her book. The talk ended with a question and answer session. She was then available in the library for the children to meet and question her further.
