Getting real life experience to solve problems involving money was the force which drove Class I to Ebco Supermarket on Tuesday 21st and Thursday 23rd February 2017. Sorting and grouping suddenly made sense when the children went looking to buy their snacks. Number bonds came in handy when it was time to tally the change. They learnt how to handle money independently, compare prices and make sensible choices within their budget. Some children saved to drop the change into a charity box on the cashier's counter. Later, they went to a nearby park in Clifton to enjoy their snacks which they had bought at the super market.
