Parent Discussion Classes V & VI

17 Jan 2014

Parent Discussion Sessions have provided a useful forum to voice concerns and bring up issues dealing with the physical, emotional and social development of children.

On Saturday 17th January, 2014, the coordinators of Classes V & VI invited Ayesha Irshad Mian, MD, Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry, The Agha Khan University, Karachi, to share her views on “Self-esteem, tolerance and empathy - can my child have it all?’

The talk reinforced many of our ideas on how differing styles of child rearing may lead to children either feeling confident of themselves or believing that they are unable to succeed.

The session ended on a reflective note when Dr Mian requested parents to ask the question of themselves: Self-esteem, tolerance and empathy - do I have it all?
