Samandar Ki Chori

28 Feb 2015

If a city by the sea awakens to startling realisation... that the sea has been stolen, what would its inhabitants do?

The directors, cast and crew of the Urdu play explored this idea in the dramatic rendition of Mr. Asif Farrukhi's short story: Samandar Ki Chori.

Our young actors enjoyed taking on the role of characters from different segments of society, understanding their perspectives and how they deal with loss. They were also urged to consider, through the wit and humour in the dialogue, how a catastrophe of any sort is exploited by individuals.

The mystery of the stolen sea kept the audience intrigued till the very end, and the characters did a fine job of bringing to life Mr. Farrukhi's words.
