Thursday Assembly: In the Beginning and Pandora’s Box

29 Mar 2018

The parents of VK came to watch their children perform a myth called ‘In the Beginning and Pandora's Box.’ The students first explained that myths were some of the oldest stories that were often used to explain why events, especially natural events, took place. They chose to enact the story of Pandora who was the first woman created according to Greek Mythology. The children did an excellent job as some dressed up as the characters and acted out the story while others took turns narrating the tale. Pandora is given a box she is instructed to never open. She gives into temptations and unleashes evil in to the world. The story does have a positive end as hope is also released. The assembly was held in the inner courtyard and the stage was used very effectively for the skit.
