Thursday Assembly: VS and VT on Diversity in Pakistan

07 Mar 2019

Classes  VS and VT did a combined Assembly Presentation which showcased the cultural diversity of Pakistan’s provinces. This included recitations of Punjabi and Pushto couplets and a performance of the popular Khattak dance with a sword play by VS. The importance of play was highlighted with a re-enactment of ‘pithy’ and ‘kikli’, games popularly played by children in the Punjab.
Class VT explored the time-honoured traditions of music, dance and storytelling from the provinces of Sind and Balochistan. Two performances accompanied key information about how these practices came to be and how they are still relevant for us today.
Children dressed up in regional dresses added colour to the performance and the use of vernacular languages added to the sense of diversity and the patriotic spirit of our country
