Workshop on Advertising for Class V

Class V has been studying advertising as part of their curriculum. To extend learning beyond the classroom, a team from the advertising agency, IAL Saatchi and Saatchi, came to share some advertising tips with the students. The session started off with an excellent presentation in the AV Room and children were shown a variety of effective advertisements. Packets of chips were then given to the children to sample. They then had to work in their house groups to come up with their own advert for the chips. The children were given a brief about the product and then filled up forms that helped them define their target audience. They then worked in groups of 3-5 to develop advertisements for the product. It was a wonderful hands-on learning activity for the children on the psychology and art of persuasion.
