End of the term

23 Apr 2020

Covid 19 brought with itself unprecedented times and thereby many 'firsts' and innovative ways of doing things!

Our Class VI Farewell and Class parties, generally scheduled for the last day of the term, did happen this time as well, but virtually, while maintaining social distancing!

We bid a fond farewell to our outgoing Class VI, as they said their goodbyes on Zoom. The children of Class VI commemorated this time by individually  creating artistic slides in PowerPoint, which were then combined into a digital Yearbook for a couple of sections. Two sections posted their messages to each other and their teachers on Padlet walls. One section had a Mad-hatter Zoom party! We wish them well as they move on to the Middle Section.

Class V children put up heartwarming farewell messages, as audio/video recordings or as written posts in their Google Classroom; some of them met vitually in Zoom meetings.

It was lovely to see Class IV children posting their own video message and responding to each other's in Stream, in Google Classrooms.

IIIs created lovely Padlet walls, where the Leader, Class Teachers, Teacher Assistants, Subject Teachers and the Heads posted goodbye messages for our youngest learners. The children, in turn, posted their responses! The 'Walls', thus generated, have a personal touch and are brimming with lots of good wishes, pieces of advice, warmth and love!

Interactions on these platforms continued well after the 23rd of April. It seemed as if none of us wanted to say a final goodbye! Messages kept pouring in on Padlet walls and in Google Classrooms. Virtual Year Books and Padlet walls have turned into joyous keepsakes!

Totally unusual times and equally novel ways of bidding a heartfelt farewell to the academic year 2019 - 20 were witnessed!  A fitting end of the distance learning period, indeed!
